What makes one security door better than another?

The heart of the door is the frame around it. The doors we sell at Tashman’s are made with a minimum 1 ¼” square stock frame. This frame gives the door a solid place to be welded to and lock into. If you use a cheaper or thinner frame a doors security can be compromised more easily with the use of  a crow bar to pry the frame and the door apart.

Security meshes and grills on the door can vary and you have many different orninental choices to decorate you security door. Most doors have a perforated mesh that keeps small insects from coming in and also prevents someone from opening up the lock on the door. There are different size meshes as well as diamond mesh and other decorative grills to select.

Double doors are great to protect French doors that swing out. One half of the door remains fixed most of the time, but can be opened with flip of a concealed flush bolt.

The active door is locked with a deadbolt and entry lock .

 Sliding security doors have a heavy duty track on top and one panel can slide over the fixed side to allow access. The door is locked with a hook lock that does not allow the door to open unless it is disengaged.

 Folding gates or scissor gates are used in commercial applications to cover over a door or window. The gate is folded back and away to keep out of site during the day but lock at night or when needed.
